Now we are looking for a HR Officer to join Veronica (People & Culture Lead) and help us bring structure, compliance, and care to every stage of the employee journey.

About the Role
As a HR Officer, you own the operational backbone of our HR function. You will manage the full employee life-cycle administration, coordinate payroll, maintain our HR systems, and keep us compliant with Dutch labor law — all while helping shape a culture people genuinely want to be part of.
You will be part of the People & Culture team that makes sure we hire the right people, that they thrive at Wellis, and that our processes run like clockwork. You report to Veronica (People & Culture Lead), work day-to-day with Amir (Senior Recruiter). The team further consists of Sharine (People & Culture Intern) and the soon to be hired (Junior Recruiter).
Key Responsibilities
Own the full HR life-cycle administration — from drafting contracts and onboarding new hires to managing leavers and everything in between.
Act as the primary contact for our payroll provider, ensuring every colleague is paid accurately and on time.
Manage and maintain our HR systems (Nmbers / Personio) so we can make data-driven decisions.
Keep us sharp on Dutch labor law and ensure our employee handbook is a living, breathing guide — not a dusty PDF.
Coordinate benefits administration: pension, Alleo budget, WFH allowance, and more.
Support employer branding and culture initiatives: help keep our Rotterdam HQ a place people actually want to be.
Work on improvement projects: automation, process optimization, and manager enablement.
A Week in the Life @ Wellis
Monday: Review new starters and leavers for the week; prepare contracts, onboarding packs, and system updates.
Tuesday: Payroll coordination block: process mutations, validate hours, and liaise with our payroll provider.
Wednesday: HRIS maintenance and reporting; follow up on open compliance items and policy updates.
Thursday: Benefits administration; answer employee questions on leave, contracts, and workplace policies.
Friday: Review HR metrics and open items; work on process improvements; sync with the People & Culture team.
Job requirements
Who You Are
3+ years of experience in an HR role within the Netherlands. You know your way around Dutch labor law and payroll cycles.
Bachelor degree in HRM, Business Administration, or other relevant studies.
Organized and detail-oriented. You get genuine satisfaction from a clean system and a perfectly filed contract.
Strong communicator who writes clearly and keeps colleagues informed.
Comfortable with HR tools (HRIS, Google Workspace, payroll systems).
Fluent in English and Dutch — essential for navigating local regulations and our international team.

What We Offer
Compensation: €50,000 – €60,000 gross annual salary (including holiday allowance).
